The 80s supergroup, Menudo, will make a comeback in the form of a reality show. Auditions begin on Thursday in Puerto Rico. Producers are looking for a group of 15-year-old boys to compete for a spot in the newly formed group. The contestants will live together in NYC ala "Making the Band."
The boys selected for the band will stay in it until their 19. When they turn that age, they will be considered old meat and replaced.
It's not being considered as a talent show but as a group that "“will be promoted through a pop-culture marriage of 80s nostalgia and a decidedly 21st-century entertainment trend,— the reality show."
The original group helped launch the career of Ricky Martin. It is not known whether he will be part of the process or not, but he needs the dough and the exposure. He probably wouldn't mind being around those young boys either. I'm joking! He's like his men legal.
